Sizing & Shape
ALL OF OUR LEATHERS REPRESENT THE NATURAL FORM IN WHICH THEY ARE CUT AND MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC FROM THEIR PERSPECTIVE TANNERIES.
For Wickett & Craig Sides:
The cutting of the entire hide begins at their tannery and is based off North American Native Steer rawhide. They are cut directly down the backbone to represent a half-hide, and only sold this way. All splitting performed on their premises has a variance of 1 full ounce in substance due to the nature and regions of the skin. Please recognize that areas such as the shoulder pocket and belly will always represent this fact.
For Clayton Shell Cordovan, here is an example of sizes:
Width (measured a the widest point of the egg shape, horizontally):
Small: 18.5 inches (47cm)
Medium: 22 inches (56cm)
Large: 25 inches (63.5cm)
Height (measured at the tallest point from base of the egg shape, parallel):
Small: 14 inches (35.5cm)
Medium: 15.5 inches (40cm)
Large: 19 inches (48cm)
Natural shell cordovan is most determined by the horse itself. The actual shape is only revealed after the section is fleshed and de-haired and it is then when the size (S,M,L) is sorted.
